Testimonials from previous Visitor Programs
“Working in the E-Payments Team provided me with the opportunity to learn more about the practical procedures for antitrust cases handled by the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition. The involvement in e-payment systems and financial services-related cases fit well with my work experience and interests. While on one hand I developed myself on a professional level, the EU Visitors Programme also provided an invaluable opportunity to exchange practices and insights between the Korea Fair Trade Commission and the Directorate-General for Competition.”
Mr. Daeyoung Kim, Senior Deputy Director, Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC)
“The Cartels unit at the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition welcomed me as one of their colleagues, allowing me to work alongside the EU case handlers on ongoing cartel cases. As a result, I developed a deep understanding of the similarities and differences between the EU and Indonesia in the field of competition policy. I highly recommend the EU Visitors Programme to any competition official looking to gain new insights into competition enforcement and to expand their network within the international competition community.”
Mr. Helmi Nurjamil, Investigator and Prosecutor, Indonesian Competition Authority (KPPU)
“During my secondment at the DG COMP, I got an opportunity to work as a team member in the Cartel Directorate. Being part of the case-handling team, I was involved in the investigation of some on-going cases that helped me to learn from my continuous discussions with the experienced case-handling officers working with the DG COMP. From my participation in the program, I got first-hand experience and learned about the best practices from the DG COMP, especially regarding guidelines and procedures to handle cartel cases, which could be applied to the Competition Commission of India. I highly recommend the EU Visitors Programme to all competition officials looking forward to gain new insights into competition enforcement and to exchange knowledge and insights on competition law”.
